Founded in 2008 by The Travel Corporation, the TreadRight Foundation encourages sustainable tourism and has completed more than 40 projects benefiting the environment and local cultures and heritage.
Most recently, we teamed up with them to launch the MAKE TRAVEL MATTER PLEDGE. U Employees, alongside our 10,000 team members across 42 travel brands worldwide, are taking a stand for people, the planet and wildlife.
We will ban more than 60 types of single-use plastics across all operations—including straws, water bottles and plastic bags—by 2022.
We are a completely paper-free cruise, which is why we don’t issue paper cruise documents. Instead, we only issue cruise documents electronically, and through our partnership with One Tree Planted, we plant a tree for every e-document issued. In addition, all onboard communication is done through WhatsApp and tv monitors.
We’re providing the community of Kanambu, Ecuador, with a water treatment center to allow for clean water, healthy sanitation facilities and infrastructure for food production.
As part of our continuing sustainability journey, we feel it’s increasingly important to provide our guests and our team with the necessary tools and information to allow them to make responsible travel choices whenever possible. With this in mind, we are now happy to provide you with opportunities to carbon offset your travel experience.
Alongside our parent company and the TreadRight Foundation, we’re committed to sustainable tourism and conscious travel.Share this page
We’re proud to partner with this nonprofit organization—co-founded by philanthropist and international supermodel Petra Němcová after she survived the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami—which rebuilds safe, resilient schools in areas impacted by natural disasters.
